Patent fundamentals is divided into six modules that are to some extent based on each other. Each module covers a specific area within patents and it is possible to study the entire Patent fundamentals course or choose the modules that are relevant for you. If you sign up for several modules, we offer a discount on the entire cost.

Knowledge corresponding to Module 2 is required. It is not necessary to have detailed knowledge of the structure of the patent application or skills in writing patent claims.
Kursbeskrivning Course description
Module 4 provides more detail on how to obtain patents in other countries, including the concept of priority, and an overview of international systems for handling patent applications, primarily PCT and EPC as well as patent formalities for some important countries. We also discuss how to choose countries and strategies for patenting.
The course is certified by SEPAF.

Anders Lindroth är patentkonsult och delägare på patentbyrån Kransell & Wennborg i Stockholm.
Han hjälper sina kunder med allt som rör patent, såsom patentansökningar, invändningar, intrångsutredningar och patentstrategier.Anders var tidigare anställd på Awapatent (2004-2008) men har även bred erfarenhet från tidigare tjänster som systemarkitekt, utvecklare och managementkonsult på AU-System/Teleca (2001-2004) samt Accenture (1997-2000).

Gabriela Tomescu is a US patent attorney and Attorney at Law at Bergenstråhle’s Stockholm office with expertise in medtech. Gabriela worked as a Director of Intellectual property at three different medical device start-ups in Silicon Valley from 2005-2012, before starting her own company in 2012, Gabriela Tomescu IP consulting. She joined Bergenstråhle & Partners in 2014 as a US Intellectual Property Attorney.
Gabriela counsels clients in IP strategy and portfolio development, freedom-to-operate, due diligence and trademarks. She possesses extensive experience with start-ups and new business development.

Ping is a patent attorney at Bergenstråhle & Partners supporting clients in the fields of computer technology, data processing and software, providing customers with advice on China related matters, including both patent and utility matters. Ping mainly works with patent drafting, patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate, IP-counseling, IP-strategies, document translations and business development in China.
Before joining Bergenstråhle & Partners in 2016, Ping worked at Groth & Co from 2014-2015. Ping had 7 years’ working experience as a patent examiner in CNIPA, and is also an authorized Chinese patent agent.

Rut har mer än 20 års erfarenhet av patentarbete och sedan november 2009 driver hon Trona Patentrådgivning AB. Förutom att arbeta som patentkonsult tillhandahåller hon handledning och utbildningar inom immaterialrätt.
Rut ingår också i den arbetsgrupp i regi av EPO som ska ta fram utbildningsmaterial för EQE Pre-exam och är även en av coacherna som vägleder EQE-kandidater i EPO:s Candidate Support Program.
Hon är en erfaren föreläsare som har varit med sedan IP-akademin startades. Hon har även ansvarat för interna utbildningar på en stor patentbyrå och hållit egna kurser i Norge och Sverige.
